What The HECK?!

The other night we were playing cards (we're addicted to Monopoloy Deal) and all of a sudden we hear the loudest noise on the front door. It sounds like a crazy rain storm...we both sit and look at each other but neither one of us go and check out the noise. The noise doesn't stop so we peek out the back sliding door and realize that it's not raining outside. Hmmm...we open the door and find that the sprinkler head got blasted off the pipe and the water was blasting out like crazy. It was shooting straight up, right under the stairs and it was ricocheting off the stairs and right on our door. We waited until the sprinkler turned off and then we got the flashlight and did some exploring. We wanted to know what was going on so we could explain it to the maintenance man.

We immediately put a call into our apartment's emergency line and told them the situation. We assumed that it would get fixed because it was a crazy amount of water shooting out of the pipe INTO OUR FRONT DOOR, which leaked into our apartment! Well, I woke up the following morning of our maintenance request to this...and this...The maintenance men apparently didn't fix our sprinkler because last night it shot the sprinkler head back off (Jason tried to put it back on) and threw the woodchips all over the sidewalk. If you look closely, you can see the sprinkler head in the bottom left side of the above picture. We put another call in and I figured that while we were gone today, they would have it fixed. Well last night, we experienced another rain attack! What the heck, people!! Fix the dang sprinkler in the front of our apartment or I'm going to be one angry tenant tomorrow morning. Hopefully they fix it soon or I'm going to take matters into my own hands. Caulk, packing goo or some sort of stopper will be my next purchase from Home Depot!!
