Bakersfield Business Conference

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Bakersfield Business Conference. Borton Petrini, a local law firm, organizes a huge business/financial conference for all of Southern California. I had no idea the business conference was such a big deal, but when I saw the HUGE tents being set up on the college's campus the other day on a bike ride I decided to do a little research. There are over 34 big named individuals that will be speaking at the event this weekend. Names like Dick and Lynne Cheney, Laura Bush, Sarah Palin, Goldie Hawn, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Jane Seymour, and Herb Cohen. These are some big names in the business industry right now....big names all within a few miles of our house. Bakersfield is going to be one busy place this weekend. Not only are their going to be some interesting speakers but the decorations and atmosphere of the location is really taken to the next level. Huge water fountains and ponds are brought in, trees and flowers are flown from all around the country, 100s of flags are flown and the food being catered is beyond belief. When the conference rolls into town, the college campus gets a head-to-toe makeover. They are speculating that there will be about 12,000 in attendance this weekend! This number seems a little crazy considering it's $500 a ticket. I'm hoping I can get a sneak peak of the madness but I'm thinking the security will be pretty insane. If nothing else, then I'm certain I'll be able to see the fireworks display!! People from all over the country fly into Bakersfield for the much anticipated Business Conference.
Looks like Bakersfield will be one happening place this weekend!!
