I have always loved the way a knitted blanket feels...something so warm and inviting about a homemade throw/blanket. Along with the feel of the blanket, I love all the history involved. Who made the blanket? Why did they make it? Well...I decided that I was going to make a throw/blanket for our future children. No, we aren't trying to start a family just yet but having never made anything so large and so time consuming, I figured I should start as soon as possible.
I picked out the softest, whitest ball of yarn I could find and a pretty pair of needles (not sure of the size needed for a blanket, so I just went for the size that was a pretty color). I started the pearl stitch and didn't look back...I was out of control. Well all the excitement lasted for about two months and then it came to a dramatic stop. I'm embarrassed to even show you how much I've done(or not done) in the past months
Yeah....not very much, huh? I'm hoping this post will get me motivated again to pick up the needles and continue making this dang 'ole throw. I know that the size should be a little wider but initially when I started I was planning on making different blocks and then putting them together somehow. I'm not sure that's even possible. Can't you tell I've never done this before??
So for now, I'm going to try and add a few pearl stitches each night. Wish me luck!
