10:30am--Everything was moved out of the apartment and placed beside the trailer so I could make sure to clean the apartment as best as I could before check out. I'm positive that just about every car that drove past our little corner stopped and stared at our little disaster zone. 1:00pm--We had just about everything loaded on the trailer and we needed another tarp to make sure that nothing would get damaged if we went through a rain/winter storm. Sue and myself ran to Wal-Mart to get a tarp and then we stopped to get some lunch for everyone. Wal-Mart took a little longer than we thought because there was a slight confusion that left me bawling and feeling stranded out front of Wal-Mart for a period of time that felt like hours! The stress level was extremely high on Friday and I was pretty much maxed out after lunch!
2:30pm--We finally had the trailer loaded and we were ready to make our drive across the country. We said our goodbyes and hit the road with no looking back. Our time in California was something we hope to never forget but the next chapter of our lives is something we are looking forward to, so we were excited to make the drive.
2:40pm--Ten miles down the road, we had to pull over and readjust the tarp because it ripped and was flapping like crazy.
3:00pm-12:00am--We drove and drove and drove. The only stop we made was for gasoline and diesel. Finally around midnight, we stopped at a truckstop for some dinner. We ate, drank another '5-hour energy' and continued. Jason drove Andrew's truck and I drove my car so everyone could rest. The tarp slowly ripped more and more with each passing mile...
12:00am-11:00am (March 5, 2011)--We made it to Amarillo, Texas and we were exhausted. Jason and myself had been up for 24 hours and it was hitting us like a ton of bricks. I decided to take a break and rest up so I could drive the last leg of the trip. Jason came and drove my car, Andrew went to drive his truck and I got some much needed rest. Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep longer than 30 minutes but just not having to focus on the road was awesome.
11:00am-11:00pm--We made it to the Missouri boarder!! We still had a few hours ahead of us but we got a second wind once was saw the Missouri sign. Jason was back in Andrew's truck driving and I was driving my car again. Little did we know that the last 5 hours would be the longest drive of our lives.
11:00pm-5:00am (March 6, 2011)--We did everything in our power to stay awake. I unrolled the windows, sang along with the radio like I was in a recording studio and drank a few more energy drinks. We finally pulled into my mom's house at 5:00am and we literally walked to the bed and fell asleep. No talking, no unloading....just sleep!!
8:30am--Woke up with only just a few hours of sleep. Not sure why I couldn't sleep but I wasn't the only one. At 9:30am, Jason and Andrew both woke up and were ready to start unloading. Before we unloaded anything, I had to take a picture of the trailer and our tarps that got all ratty and torn on the drive.
If I wasn't so exhausted, then I would have been embarrassed with the way our truck/trailer must have looked going down the interstate. I know that we looked like hillbillys driving down the road, but we saved so much money by moving it ourselves that I'm not going to complain.
While unloading all the our furniture, we found that everything survived the move...very few scratches in our furniture! The 38 hour drive (with less than an hour sleep for Jason and myself) was killer but I'm so glad that we pushed ourselves and made it safe and sound.

Girl, you are superwoman! I could never do that! Congrats though! You survived! Don't worry though..in England you won't have to do too much driving! ;)
