I did a little stalking last night while I was making dinner. Jason took Amelia outside to look at the birds on the birdfeeder and it was such a sweet moment, I had to capture it. Sorry for the quality...we have screens on our windows.

FYI...Jason is obsessed with his birdfeeder. I'm not sure why but he loves watching the food levels shrink with each passing day and he gets an even bigger thrill filling the feeder up each weekend.

Fun, Fall Weekend

The weather this past weekend was perfect so we took advantage of the great weather and spent our time with an out-of-town visitor. The only thing that would have made the weekend better was to have Jason home...unfortunately, he was on night call all weekend!
This upcoming weekend is Amelia's 7 month photo shoot--Halloween costumes. I've been obsessed with finding the perfect outfit for her to wear!  I'm still not certain what she will be, she looks so sweet in all of them!  We also made some Halloween cards to send to family...they turned out adorable.
We tried out numerous costumes, made Halloween cards, went to the orchard for some fresh apples, baked apple pies and spent a lot of time outside and at the park.
On the way to the park, I was able to snap a picture of her two teeth. They have grown so much once they decided to pop through her gums. I can't believe she already has two teeth...I'm going to miss that 'gummy' smile!
The park is always a good time. She loves the swing and she squeals each time she gets closer to me. She loves when the person pushing her reaches for her and tries to tickle her feet.  Her personality is so big and so fun at such a young age. I love watching her express her personality and the swingset in the park is definitely where it shines.
Late Sunday evening, Amelia's running nose and cough got a little worse. It sounded thicker and it was making it difficult for her to breath without having coughing fits. We hooked up the breathing machine for a treatment. Surprisingly, Amelia loved it. The air coming out of the mouthpiece and the vibration of the box were so entertaining for her.
We loved having a visitor this weekend to help us with our to-do list. Fall looks like it is here to stay in Pennsylvania. Looking forward to more weekends like this one, with Daddy added to the equation, of course!

Morning Walk

The mornings here are starting to get pretty chilly. We went walking today and it was so cold, foggy and damp.
We bundled up a little more than usual, turned our music up a little louder and walked with a little more speed. We both finished the walk with rosy cheeks and a runny nose. I'm not sure how many more mornings we will be able to tolerate the cold...we might have to start doing more evening walks!

We sure to love our morning time together!!

Monthly Milestones--Month 7

You've been such a little trooper this past month. You've been teething so it hasn't been the easiest time on you. Even though you haven't been feeling the greatest, you've been the sweetest little girl. We're so in love with have no idea!

Your appetite has been a little down this past month. You've been teething, had a few colds and contracted Roseola. You still love eating your solid food but your bottles have been a little more difficult. We've even started giving you cold/cool bottles because the cool seemed to help your gums. A few times you refused your bottle and we were thinking that you were starting to wean. You usually eat 5 times a day. You nurse right when you wake up and then you eat a 6 oz. bottle (1/2 formula, 1/2 breastmilk) at 9:00am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Along with your bottles, you eat some baby food. At lunch and dinner you eat veggies and fruits along with some of Mommy and Daddy's dinner. We've started putting a scoop of food on your highchair tray and you love playing in it and eating your fingers. I would say your favorite foods are pears, bananas, peas and sweet potatoes. You're definitely starting to figure out that you can feed yourself. You aren't the best with hand-mouth coordination but you're trying. We've also introduced a sippy cup with love drinking from it but you have no desire to hold it yourself.

You are wearing size 2 Pampers Swaddlers. You've been having some major blowouts so we've been going back and forth between Pampers and Huggies to try and find the perfect fit. Some blowouts are so major that you come in a different outfit than what you went to school in. It's Mommy's little joke when I pick you up from school that if you are in a different outfit it must have been a 'rough day'.
Diaper changes are still pretty rough. You squirm, roll over, push off with your feet to move out of reach and sometimes you even scream at the top of your lungs. Sitting still and patience are still a few things that we are working on!

Summer is over and Fall is in full force around here. It's an exciting time because we are getting to try out a new style of clothing...pants, long sleeves, tights, sweaters, etc. You're wearing 6 month clothes pretty regularly. You still have a few 3-6 month onesies and pants but for the most part you are in 6 month outfits. Your 9 month pajamas are just about too small in length and we're almost needing to put you in 12 month. You don't like socks (or shoes) so going up a size in pajamas means less options for feeted onesies, which means putting on the dreaded socks. Getting dressed has gotten easier. You actually will push your arms up through the arm holes.

Sleep is still great, even though we had a few nights were you were up in pain due to teething or stuffed up due to a cold. You're still sleeping from 7:30pm to 5:00am. Some mornings you sleep till 6:00am and Mommy loves the extra hour!  You're definitely an early riser but you're ready for a little nap before we head out to school. You're tired cues are getting much easier to recognize!

Here are a few more things that you've been doing/we've been experiencing lately:

Sleeping on your belly with your booty sky high
Self-feeding (a little)...eggs, mashed potatoes, mashed peas
Love to stand-up holding on to Daddy and Mommy's hands
Starting to put some vowel sounds together.
Saying "dada" constantly (started on 9/9)
Popping through TWO teeth
Sitting up in grocery carts and high chairs at restaurants
Drinking out of a sippy cup
First big sickness-Roseola
Sitting up and reaching so far forward that you are almost on your belly
Recognizing bubbles in the bath and splashing them all around
Reaching for Mommy and Daddy when you want picked up
Throwing toys...constantly
Focusing on the tiniest little things and using your picher grasp to pick them up
Sucking your thumb (you hate your pacifier)
Covering your head with your thin blanket to play peek-a-boo
Getting ticklish on the back of your neck and down your back
Snuggling with Mommy and Daddy when you get sleepy
Giving kisses--wide mouthed and tongue sticking out

Please slow down, big girl. You are learning new things all the's such a joy to watch but heartbreaking at the same time because you are growing so fast. Your smile can light up a room, your giggle makes our hearts happy and your sweet personality makes us so proud.
We love you, Sugar Poo!

One In A Million

She may strangle me for doing this but today I am linking up with Kelly's Korner for "Show Us Your Life" Fridays. Today is "Show Us Your SINGLES" so I'm going out on a limb and putting my mama on display!

Meet my mom, Reta.
She lives in Missouri, born and raised.
She's a Christian and she has a strong desire to do God's will
She's a wonderful mother and even better grandmother
Her smile and laugh is contagious
She loves the outdoors..camping, swimming, skiing
She can bake a mean lasagna
She is always up for an adventure and she loves trying new things

She will make a GREAT catch for someone, someday. She is a great communicator and would love to find the man of her dreams and settle down, wherever the wind blows!
Please email me at ashconway(at) if you know of anyone interested!

**Don't be upset Mom, just trying to find you a Godly man!

Truth Is...

  • Our morning walks have been pushed back 30 minutes so Amelia can see the three school buses that circle our subdivision picking up kids. She's mesmerized every time one passes!
  • I triple check the locks on all the doors and sleep with a light on when Jason works nights and isn't home.
  • Last night I ate dinner at 5:15pm because I thought I would burn off more of the calories before going to bed. In reality, I ate at 5:15pm and then proceeded to have another dinner at 7:30pm. Why, oh why do I do this to myself?!
  • My calendar squares get marked off with a pink highlighter every morning. I love keeps life exciting and interesting!
  • Amelia's photo book is completely full and another one needs to be ordered! I had no idea that I would have so many pictures in just 6 months...a little crazy.
  • We bought the tiniest $3.00 mums from Home Depot. We were hoping that the cool evenings would cause them to grow like mad and give some competition to our neighbors. Instead, the wind knocks a little piece of it each time it blows across our front porch. The neighbors are definitely winning the 'prettiest mum' award.
  • I turned on the heater in the house this morning to get the chill out only to realize that the bedroom window was left open all night.
  • I took a sick day at work yesterday so we could have a fun-filled, adult day. Jason was off so we took Amelia to school and then enjoyed the day, just the two of us.
  • Amelia has had two teeth pop through in the past six days. It has been rough, really rough. Tonight we are going to the doctor...hoping to get her feeling like her old self!

Our Weekend

The weather couldn't have been better this weekend...Fall is definitely coming onto the scene.
Jason worked Friday night so Saturday we tried to stay outside as much as possible so he could sleep. We mowed, trimmed the bushes and washed the car. Technically, I mowed while Amelia sat in her highchair on the deck, I trimmed the bushes while Amelia sat on the grass playing with her blocks and I washed the car while Amelia played in her jumparoo.
Amelia loves being outside so she enjoyed helping Mommy with outside chores. Notice her little's a size too small but it had a hood so it worked. It wasn't really cold enough for a jacket but we needed a hood since it was a little windy.
Once Daddy woke up, we walked into the middle of town for the annual Art Festival. Local crafters set up shop in the middle of our town to display their homemade goodies. We loved walking down the streets and looking at all the crafts. I think our favorite two tents were the Amish furniture and homemade soy candles. It's amazing how talented some people are!!
We grabbed some yummy BBQ from a local youth group and some homemade peach shortcake and caramel popcorn.
Sunday morning was our lazy day. Amelia wanted to wake up Daddy so we crawled into bed with him for some Sunday morning snuggles. I didn't know how Amelia would do since she's never been in our bed before but she cozied right in between us and showered us with lovin. The pictures are a little grainy but they still are so stinkin' sweet!
I love this picture of her holding her Daddy's hand...too sweet!
Our morning snuggles were followed by church, a 2 hour nap, a walk and some BBQ for lunch. Amelia was having a great weekend until about 4pm Sunday afternoon. Daddy went into work and Mommy was trying to figure out what was wrong with our little lady. She was running a 103 degree fever and she was so lathargic. She wanted to be held but after a few minutes she would whine and moan to get comfortable. After some medicine and a cool washcloth, Amelia was able to get comfortable.
I'm hoping that she is just trying to get that second tooth to pop through her gums. She already has one tooth that I can feel but I'm wondering if there is another one. I took a picture of her tooth, which is very difficult to see. I still wanted to document her first's there, I promise!

After a rough Sunday night, we woke up determined to make the most out of our Monday. Amelia was still feeling pretty rough. No fever but definitely not herself. We were leaving for school when Daddy came home from work. He missed his little lady...he hated being at work knowing that she wasn't feeling very good.

Our weekend was great, except for the last few hours of Sunday. We loved being outside and enjoying the cooler weather. September is half-way over and winter will be here before we know it.

My Little Dog Walker

This morning on our walk, Amelia decided that she wanted to help walk the boys. She kept reaching her hand out of her stroller to grab their leashes and when she finally grabbed Bazzle's leash, she didn't let go.
I have the cutest little dog walker...I love that she enjoys our morning time together! The cool morning air, that sweet face and nursery rhymes playing on Pandora make for a great Friday morning.

"B" Is For...

This week at school Amelia learned about the letter 'B' and all things that have the 'B' sound.
Amelia wore a Blue dress Monday morning so she could build Binoculars to watch the Birds outside. She also had a major Blowout, which resulted in an outfit change!
Tuesday morning we had to Bundle up for our morning walk. 49 degrees is chilly! I love her matching monkey hat and gloves. She didn't mind the Brisk morning air...she's so content!
Amelia wore Big girl shoes and took Bubbles to school so the kids could play outside.
Wednesday morning wasn't the best morning for the letter B. Amelia was up early due to teething pain and we didn't make it out of the door until the last minute. The only way I could get a picture was with her chewing on a cool, metal flashlight. A Brown dress was worn to school...a cute outfit was needed since they were making Blueberry muffins.
Thursday we checked the calendar and saw today was all about Building Blocks and Balls. Ms. B has a fun Ball pit that Amelia gets to enjoy after all the older kids go home. (Yes, she's usually the last kid to be picked up)
Amelia will have such a fun time playing in her Blue romper with the Boys!
Friday morning we had a special visitor...Ms. Pat from the research study came and went through her checklist of things. Amelia did so good showing Ms. Pat all her new tricks...Bouncing and Bottle holding. Around 10am, we were finally out the door. Mommy had to go to work and Amelia had to go to school.
Our week learning about the letter "B" was so much fun. Amelia loves learning all of her letters!

Bonus Photo Shoot

Here are the extra pictures that we had taken this month when Grandma was visiting. I'm so glad that it was a nice day...I love these pictures!

Mommy had to get in on the action little girl is so beautiful and growing way too fast!

Since it was so warm, we decided to fill up the pool and let Amelia play. There is something so sweet about a baby in a bathing suit!

Bonus photo shoot was a success!
I'm now off to find space for these sweet pictures...these are too sweet to not hang up.

Do Everything

I guess God was trying to tell me something this morning on my drive to work. First off, this week has been crazy. Between doctor appointments, early morning wake-up calls, hectic dinners and rushed bedtime routines, my actions haven't been giving glory to God. This song really hit home with me because it doesn't matter what I'm, working, playing with Amelia, walking the dogs, etc, I should be doing everything to the glory of God.

Your picking up toys on the living room floor for the 15th time today
Matching up socks
Sweeping up lost cheerios that got away

You put a baby on your hip
Color on your lips and head out the door

Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you,
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

For the video and to hear the here.
God has been so great to our family and I shouldn't complain about ANYTHING but I often find myself getting sucked into everyday life and turning into an ungrateful little brat. I'm so thankful for my health, my family's health, a happy marriage, our precious little girl, the boys, our house, our jobs, Ms. B, family, our church and the list goes on and on.
Even though my day-to-day routine can be exhausting and rushed, I'm going to put more effort into everything that I do, big or small.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Hershey!

Today is Milton Hershey's 155th birthday and the whole town is celebrating!
There is a special movie being played at the museum, ticket prices to a few attractions through the town are discounted and decorations are displayed throughout the town. I'm not sure if we'll be able to take advantage of any of the attractions tonight after work but I just might have to celebrate with a cupcake!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Hershey!  Thanks for creating yummy chocolates!

6 Month Doctor's Visit

Usually Amelia's appointments are early, before work, so I don't have much time to think about it. We get up for the day and instead of going to school, we head to the doctor's office. Well, this time was different. There weren't any morning appointments available so we were given a 5:30pm appointment. Some might think the appointment time doesn't matter but to me, it does.
I had ALL day to sit around and think about the stomach was in knots on the drive to Ms. B's to get Amelia.
Jason was able to come to the appointment after he got off work. He was pretty excited to be there with was his first appointment with us since she was born.
Amelia did so good with getting her check-up. The nurse checked her weight, length, head circumference, heart and lungs. I don't think I've seen Amelia sit so still...she was amazed at everything going on.

After a thorough evaluation, Amelia was declared a healthy little lady. We discussed the three shots that she would be receiving and decided to hold off on the flu shot since it has a small dose of egg within it. Amelia has broken out twice after eating scrambled eggs for breakfast so the doctor wants to make sure the allergy passes before giving her the shot.
The shots weren't fun...Amelia is so alert and aware of her surroundings that she knew after the first shot that there were more to come. The nurse took her time in between shots to clean the leg and put on the bandaid so it made the shot process long and drawn out.
Mommy and Amelia cried and Daddy decided that they needed a better shot process for little ones. He wasn't happy that Amelia had time to squirm and freak out each time the nurse came back with another should have been wham, bam, thank you ma'am.
Next appointment is in November, right before our vacation. No vaccines are schedule unless we want to go back in for a flu shot.

6 Month Stats:
Weight: 16.49 pounds (49%)
Length: 26.97 inches (79%)
Head: 17.24 inches (77%)

Everyday Life

Last week at school, Amelia learned the letter "A" and a few words that have the "A" sound or that start with "A". The art wall had the sweetest little apple tree on it. Amelis'a arm and fingers in the brown is the tree trunk and branches and the two red circles are her apple prints.
I love that Amelia gets to be involved like the bigger kids!
Target shopping adventures are much more fun when you can walk around the store wearing a sweet little winter hat (gloves still attached) while gnawing on a box of teething tablets. The teething tablets were purchased, the hat was just modeled on our shopping adventure and then it was put back.
Megan and Bert, friends from medical school, had their little boy last week. Benton Lee Stewart arrived on September 6th. Benton is the sweetest little boy...can't wait to shower him in kisses!
Who needs toys when you have a box to play with? Amelia always dumps out her homemade bottles just so she can play with the IBC Root Beer box. This little lady knows what she wants...
Keystone Candle is a local candle outlet that has the best smelling candles. I could spend hours smelling all the different scents and looking through all the home decor. Right now they are showcasing all their fall scents...I'm so ready to get out all of our decorations!

Today is my officemate, Heidi's, birthday. I decided that our office needed to look a bit more festive.  Definitely not the best decorating job but definitely festive and FREE!

Fun At The Fair!

The York Fair is always up and running the first couple of weekends in September and this year we were so excited to take Amelia. Last year we went and definitely enjoyed ourselves so we knew we wanted to go back! Jason is on call next weekend so we decided this weekend would be perfect. The weather was suppose to be cool and cloudy so we loaded up the car and headed down South to the fair.
Amelia was in heaven...she loved watching all the rides, all the people and hearing all the different sounds. She was kicked back in her stroller, just taking it all in.
It didn't take long before the clouds parted and the sun came out in full force. Thank goodness I had a sun hat in her diaper bag because Little Miss would have had a burnt head by the end of the day.
I love watching Jason with Amelia when we go somewhere new and exciting...he's so hands on!  He wants her to experience everything and enjoy the sights. This picture cracks me up because he's pointing at a LOUD, HUGE ride loading up with people for the next ride. I hear him say, "Look, Amelia. That ride is going to spin them around really fast." and that's when the ride started.
It didn't take too long before Amelia started freaking out...she didn't care how fast the ride was going to spin them around, she wanted out of her stroller, away from the scary ride...PRONTO!
We left that area as fast we could and we headed to the building with all the animals. Jason really wanted Amelia to see all the cows, sheep, goats and pigs. Amelia loved it...not the animals, but all the people!  No matter how hard Jason tried to get her to watch the animals, she wasn't having it. At one point, he put her down in front of a sheep, face to face, and all she cared about was hitting her hand on the metal gate.
We walked through the whole fair...up and down each aisle. We saw tons of games, rides and food vendors. We couldn't go to the fair and not load up on some food...fair food only comes around once a year!  Amelia even got to sample some of the powdered sugar from the funnel cake (don't judge!)
We couldn't have asked for a better day at the fair with our little family. We love starting all these fun, fall traditions!  It's crazy to think that it's already September...Fall and Winter are right around the corner.

Here, There And Everywhere

--First things first...Mom loved the car. I could barely contain my excitement as we waited for her bags and then made our way to the parking garage. She didn't believe me at first but after I popped the trunk and started loading her bags, she realized I was telling the truth. Needless to say, she loved the car!! We love the car too...I haven't parked legally since we picked it up Thursday evening. Yes, I admit that I'm hogging two parking spaces everywhere we go.

--September has arrived! At work, the spiced pumpkin candle is lit and the candy dish is filled with candy corn. I love that Fall is getting closer!

--We had another photo shoot this weekend (after we already took her 6 month pictures)...yes, I realize I have a slight obsession with pictures of my little lady! Amelia begged me for pictures with Grandma and I couldn't tell her no. Pictures with Grandma, pictures with Mommy and pictures in the pool are coming up!

--Four days with Mom wasn't nearly enough time. We don't plan much during her visits here because we know we just want to hang out and visit. We would be happy spending all of our time together  at the house in our long as we can chat, we're pretty easy to please. We planned a trip to the park one evening...we needed to get out of the house and enjoy the fresh air.
We decided half way to the park that we wanted to make a pitstop at the creek. My mom loves the creek, she actually loves all types of water, so I thought that she would love to see our fun little creek by our house. I think this next picture is worth a thousand words....Grandma is introducing Amelia to the creek for the first time.
Amelia LOVED it!  She was kicking her feet and splahing in the cool water...she's already a huge fan after only a few minutes.
--Saturday afternoon we went downtown to the river to Kipona, a local art festival. We enjoyed strolling around City Island and exploring the different vendors on a cool, overcast day. Jason and Amelia tried out a homemade canoe...aren't they adorable?!

--A few Christmas gifts have been purchased. I'm trying to get a start early so when December rolls around, the majority of the gifts have been purchased and the wallet doesn't get emptied out all at once.

--Jason has started a new rotation this month and his schedule is already sooo much better. For the most part, he's working 7a-5p with the occassional overnight or call shift.

--The tickets to Jamaica have been purchased and we are now counting down the days till our first family beach vacation. I have to get seriously serious about losing this baby weight. Bathing suits are not very forgiving....
