Exersaucer Fun!

Barrett is growing up so fast!  He's now wanting to be sitting up and looking around instead of reclined back in our arms. We decided to let him sit in his Exersaucer for a little bit last night and he loved it.
His little feet couldn't reach the base so we improvised with a pillow so his feet weren't just dangling.
His head control is getting better with each passing day but he managed to hold himself upright for a couple of minutes. Good job, buddy!

Missouri Vacation-Part 3

Wednesday morning was the day that we set aside to drive to see my grandparents and my dad. Since my dad's heart attack, he can't drive and it's difficult for him to travel so we decided to go to him. We knew we wanted him to see the kids while we were home and Wednesday looked like the best day in our crazy schedule. Jason had two interviews while we were home so he couldn't make the trip with us--thank goodness for Nannie because I wouldn't have been able to do it alone.
It was so great to see Barrett and Amelia with their great-grandparents. I'm so glad that they were able to meet them and shower them with love.

Amelia was so shy that they had to give most of their love to Barrett, which I don't think he minded one bit. I wish that I would have gotten a picture with both the kids with everyone!
My dad and step-mom got Amelia some of the cutest dress-up clothes for Christmas. Amelia hasn't really been into dressing up so I was surprised when she wanted to put everything on, including the high heel shoes, as soon as she opened up the box.
We stayed for a couple of hours and we were back on the road to see my other Grandpa, my mom's dad. He lives about 30 minutes away from my dad's parents and both the kids were exhausted from getting up early so they took a nap. Usually Amelia wakes up as soon as the car comes to a stop but she was so exhausted that I was able to carry her inside and lay her down without her waking up.
While Amelia slept, we had a yummy lunch and we introduced Barrett to Grandpa. So sweet!
I love this picture of everyone...HA!  Amelia was a little nervous of grandpa and the only way we could get her to get a picture was to get Daisy, the puppy, in the picture. I think Mom and Grandpa are in mid-sentence, Daisy is scared out of her mind, Barrett is just chilling and Amelia is grinning from ear to ear. It's the best we could do!  HA
Before we made the 2.5 hour drive home, we had to explore the chicken coop. Amelia thought that the chickens were pretty cool. My uncle built this coop, complete with a heater for them. It was pretty neat!
We made it back to my sister's house and we were determined to do NOTHING for the remainder of the evening and the rest of our time in Missouri. We all needed some downtime!
We spent the rest of Wednesday evening lounging around in our pajamas and playing in the playroom. Amelia loved playing with all of the toys (and sitting on the Lego table).
Thursday we literally did nothing and it felt so good. Here are just a few pictures of our super exciting day...HA.

Friday was our last day in Missouri and we had a few last minute visits with Meme, Andrew, Holly and the kids. Before everyone got to the house, we took advantage of the hot tub. Amelia thought that the 'pool' was a lot of fun.
Here are a few pictures of the Conway kids spending the morning together. We even managed to get a group shot that turned out pretty good!

How cute are these two little munchkins?!  Amelia wanted a picture with her brother after the group shot and then later on in the evening when Barrett was doing tummy time, she wanted to help out.

Later Friday evening as we were eating dinner, our phone rang with a 1-800 number. Our airline sent out an automated call to inform us that our 9am flight was delayed 13 hours and wouldn't be flying out until 10pm on Saturday night. We immediately starting searching for another flight to jump on so we could get home at a decent time on Saturday. We really enjoy having Sunday at home so we can get ready for the work week so we knew we wanted to try to get home on Saturday. We finally managed to get on a 6am Saturday morning flight but the only catch was we had a 5 hour layover in Charlotte. Five hours could be pretty rough with two kids but we knew that was our only option.
We left my sister's house around 2am on Saturday morning, returned the rental car, went through security and made it to the gate on time for our 6am flight.
The kids were angels during the flight, during our layover and during our second flight. We seriously couldn't have had it any better.

We pulled into Hershey at 4:30pm on Saturday after a crazy, fun-packed week. It was so great to see everyone and to have a week back in Missouri but pulling into our house on Saturday felt really good. We were home and home never felt so good!
Maybe next time our family can come and see us....fingers crossed!

Monthly Updates: Month Two

I'm not sure how these two months have seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye but they have...and we don't like it. Your first month of life was a little rough with the acid reflux but as soon as we got your medicine figured out, we've seen a huge improvement.
You're starting to really be aware of your surroundings and your sister is still your favorite person to track and follow around the room. We are so excited to see your relationship build over the next few months and years!
We love you more than you'll ever know!

Here are some special highlights for your SECOND month:

Weight: 14 pounds 3 ounces (81%)
Height: 23.3 inches (44%)
Head Circumference : 39 centimeters (15%)
Clothing Size: You have officially grown out of all your newborn clothes! Most of your outfits are 3 months but you do have a few 0-3 month outfits that you are still able to wear. You wore your first pair of jeans this month and they were adorable on you.
Diapers: You are in Pampers Swaddlers size 2. You weren't in size 1 diapers very long before we realized that size 2 diapers would be a better fit. Diaper changes are getting easier now that we know what to expect and how fast we need to move so we don't get peed on.
Feeding: You are eating 3 ounces every 2 hours during the day and at night when you wake up. You LOVE to eat! You are getting better at being more patient, now that you have reflux medicine, but you still let us know when you're hungry. Mama's milk is sooo yummy!
Hair/Eyes: The color of your hair right now is light brown/dirty blond. Your eyes are the prettiest blue and they are getting more blue with each passing day.
Sleep: Most nights you are down for the night by 8:00pm and you sleep about 4 hours. You wake up at midnight and usually you go back to sleep pretty quickly. You're up again around 3:00am and then you are usually up for the day around 5:30/6:00am.
-Your favorite place to lay is on the couch with the curtains opened so the sun shines on you
-You love to sit up in your bouncy chair and watch the fish and the bubbles on the arch that hooks on the chair
-You've started sitting up in your highchair when we are in the kitchen cooking and you love being able to see what's going on
-You smile so big when we talk to you but your smiles grows so much bigger when Amelia talks to love your sister
-You love your bath and you've started kicking and splashing with your arms
-You do NOT like to have a hat on your head. You can be so content and happy and the second you get a hat on your head, you have a major meltdown
-You love to ride in the car
-You do not like your pacifier no matter how many times we try to stick it in your mouth
-You went on your first airplane ride on November 16, 2013
-You are really getting vocal when someone talks to you
-You've been in your BUMBO seat a couple of times
-You are still taking medicine for your acid reflux and it's made a HUGE difference!

Missouri Vacation-Part 2

Monday morning seemed like the perfect day for a trip to the park. With all the excitement from the previous day, Amelia needed a little downtime and the park sounded like the best option. My sister and nephew spent the night so they went along with us to the park.
When we left Missouri, our hometown did not have any one park that stood out from the rest. Now, only a couple years later, and they have a pretty awesome park. It was built so handicapped kids could enjoy the pleasures of a was pretty amazing.

It was a little too windy for Barrett so he spent most of his time in the car where it was nice and warm.
While we were at the park, we got a call from Jason. He killed a deer and he wanted to show us before he took it to get processed. We stayed at the park until we couldn't handle the cold wind any longer and then we met him at the house.
Jason was so proud...he wanted everyone to get a picture with him and the deer. Amelia did great until she realized that there was a deer in the truck and it wasn't alive.
After lunch we headed down to the Davault's house. They are like our second family and we were planning a 30th birthday party for Jason and we needed to go over some last minute details. While we were there, Amelia got to play with Jarrett. Jarrett is a couple years older than Amelia but she loved following him all around.
How sweet is this 'little brother'?!  Goodness...he's about as sweet as they come!
Tuesday was the day of the birthday party. He didn't want anything too crazy so we had a get-together will some old friends and the few family members that could attend and it was perfect.
Here we are just as we were getting ready to leave for the party...
I didn't get too many pictures at the party but the few that I did get are pretty good. Meme was able to come to the party...can you believe she is 90 years old?!  She wouldn't have missed Jason's party for the world and we're so glad that she is still able to get around well enough to get out and about.
We had such a great night, with only a few meltdowns (it was late), with some great people.
Both of the kids were asleep before we even made the first turn out of their house...that's what I call a successful night!

Missouri Vacation-Part 1

Bright and early Saturday morning, we were driving to the airport. We counted down the days until our Missouri vacation and the time had finally arrived.  We were excited to get home, introduce Barrett to the family and show everyone how fast Amelia has grown since our last visit.

We couldn't sit in the same row with both kids because there weren't enough oxygen masks for two lap children so Jason and Amelia sat in the row in front of us. The flight wasn't full so Amelia got a seat all to herself...she thought she was big stuff!
We had a short layover in Washington D.C. and then we landed in Missouri around 10:00am. Jason wanted to get in the woods (it was the opening day of deer season) so he had a friend come and get him from the airport. Once we got settled in our rental car, he was on the road and eager to get in his tree stand.
Mom, myself and the kids headed to my cousins house so I could pump, we could visit with my aunt, uncle and cousins, Amelia could play with her cousin and Barrett could stretch out a little bit before making the two hour drive to my sister's house
Stopping for a couple hours before making the drive was the perfect idea. Amelia LOVED playing outside with her cousin, Reid. She also found her love for battery-powered vehicles. Santa is now on a mission to find her one!

We got to my sister's house, unloaded our suitcases and spent the evening talking and loving on the babies! Jason's step-mom and aunt also flew in for a few days during our stay. Jason's brother lives in Alaska and him and his family were in Missouri during the same time as us so they flew to enjoy all the grandbabies at once, which is something that doesn't happen very often.
Since we don't come home very often and it's the holiday season, my mom set up 'Thanksgiving' lunch on Sunday afternoon. My grandparents, aunts, cousins and friends all made the trip to visit!
Grandma Sue and Great Aunt Diane came over early on Sunday morning to see the kids...they couldn't wait to get their hands on the little ones!
The day was filled with about 40 family members, lots of laughs and great fun. It was so good to see everyone and to show off the kids. A lot of my family members had never met Amelia so to introduce Amelia and Barrett was pretty awesome.

We had such a great time visiting with our family. It was so nice to have everyone under one roof...being in Pennsylvania has made us realize how important family truly is.

We were in bed pretty early that night. I think we were all exhausted from traveling and from our busy day with family.

eShakti Review

Don’t you love bold, jewel tone colors during this time of year? I do! I also like clothing that can be versatile, for work and casual, and I love clothes that make me feel confident. A girl wants to look and feel great and often times these feelings are often linked in with our clothing.
I was approached by Jane from eShakti to review their amazing clothing options for fall and winter. I explore their website on a monthly basis (I LOVE THEIR CLOTHES) so praising the company and their clothing isn’t too difficult.

I found the most perfect blue shirt with tiny jewel rhinestones secured on the front. It is the perfect mix of dressy and casual and depending on the jewelry and the pants worn with it, the shirt can have many different looks. I’m more of a casual person in my clothing options but it’s nice to have clothing that feels casual but has an extra sparkle to it. The back of the shirt buttons up, which adds a perfect girly touch to it.
The best thing about eShakti is you can customize anything and everything to fit your body style. For a new mom, this is music to my ears. Go and check out to see their selection of adorable clothes!!
