Chagrin Falls and Fairport Harbor

We've been trying to explore as much of the area as possible while Jason is in between residency and fellowship. We went to two new places recently!
Chagrin Falls is about twenty miles from our house and it's the sweetest, historic town. The town has a ton of unique boutiques, a popcorn shop, restaurants on the falls and a ice cream shop. It has been so rainy here so the falls were a little dirty but we're hoping that they clear up in a few weeks when we have the grandparents in town.
Once we left the falls, we stopped at a nearby park to let the kids run off some energy before we got back in the car and drove to the beach.
Chagrin Falls will definitely be visited again...and soon! It was so adorable. I hope when we go back I can do a little bit better of a job documenting how cute the town is but for now, you'll just have to trust me.
We left the falls and headed north to the beach. Since we live at the top of Ohio, we are right on the border of Lake Erie. We went to Fairport Harbor Beach for our first beach experience in Ohio. We made sure to pack a beach bag even though the weather was a little gloomy and good thing we did....the kids wanted to make the most out of the trip.
They loved making sand castles, throwing rocks in the lake and even going for a little swim. The water was freezing and it was only in the 60s so it made for a rough day to get in the water.
Daddy was the chosen one to get in the water...he really loves those kiddos and I really love him for taking one for the team.
We got in the car right before dinner and Amelia said she had the best time at the beach. I can't wait to take her to a warm beach where she can search for seashells and starfish (two things that we looked for but couldn't find our our lake beach. HA)

iPhone Dump

We've had a lot of fun adventures the last couple of days but none of them need their own post so I'm going to dump them all in this post. Don't you just love these kind of random posts?!
Our neighbor has cherry trees and she invited us to come and pick cherries. Amelia was really into it and Barrett could have cared less. HA! We picked two buckets full and we'll probably go back soon so we can get enough to make her Papa Chip a cherry pie when they come and visit.
Amelia got her first big girl bike. The smaller bike has been retired and she's doing great on her bigger bike. Her confidence grows every time she gets on it...we've even taken around the "loop" when we walk the dogs. She's growing WAY too fast!!
Rockwalls and monkey bars are this girls favorite thing at the park. I think maybe she's watching too much American Ninja Warrior! Her upper body strength is pretty impressive for a three year old.
Creek time with Nannie= HEAVEN!
Snuggles with Grandpa Great before leaving to go home. Grandpa Great lives about an hour and fifteen minutes from us so we try to meet up regularly to visit. The kids are starting to get comfortable with their OH/PA family and it's so enjoyable to watch.
Ice cream showdown. Barrett won this round, while Reagan drooled.
Hide-n-seek with the cousins. Pure joy!

Fun With Daddy

Jason took a vacation week and then Hershey gave him a week off to study for his upcoming boards. As a result of him taking off, we've been able to spend some time with him the last couple weeks. I'm not sure what the kids (or myself) will do when he has to start work next week.

--We've road bikes through the neighborhood and to the local park!
--We've played with the sprinkler in the front yard!

--We've played at the zoo and took advantage of our membership deals!
We've been trying to spend as much time with Daddy over the past few weeks. He has been LOVING having so many fun adventures with the little ones.

Residency Graduation

Last Thursday night, we got the kids settled after dinner and we headed on the six hour car drive from Cleveland Ohio to Hershey Pennsylvania. The rain and the dang road construction was so crazy that our 5.5 hour trip turned into a 7 hour trip and we didn't check into our hotel until 2am. YIKES!
I would have said that it made for just a longer trip to be together but the rain was so loud and hard that we could barely hear each other think.
I went into the office on Friday to work and Jason had to study and run some errands for the graduation ceremony. We met back up later in the afternoon, got ready and then headed to the ceremony.
OHHH...I forgot to mention. We drove by our old house, got a little teary-eyed and then we headed to get ready. It was so bittersweet seeing our old house with new decorations and plants in the front. I didn't like it!!
Here are a few pictures before the ceremony. My handsome graduate...we never thought this day would come.
Jason and Adam were co-chief residents and they had to do a lot of the talking. They were in charge of handing out special awards to the junior residents and to the faculty.
I'm not sure if you noticed but Jason changed from a tie to a bow-tie. Their program director always wears a different bow-tie for formal events so all the seniors came prepared with a bow-tie. I love that their group is full of fun and life (and that the director didn't seem to mind that they were poking fun of him).
Once he sat down and the pressure was off of him during all of his presentations, he could relax a little more. See proof below!
Dinner was delicious. My sister, Ange, will make fun of me for taking pictures of my dinner but it was too fancy to not showcase.
During the ceremony when the faculty was giving out awards, Jason was called. The medical students wanted to recognize him for his patience and his teaching ability with them. He was not expecting it so it was cute to see him get the award.
So proud of my hubby--getting an award during the ceremony from the underclassmen.
Once the awards were given, it was time to showcase the graduates.
Jason got a little teary-eyed with his group of friends. They have been his friends and his family the last four years and now, everyone is going their separate ways. Starting a new chapter can be fun and exciting but also be a little bittersweet.
So proud of Jason and all his hard work! He completed residency and now he is starting his last training year (fellowship) at the Cleveland Clinic.

Great Times x3

Here are the last of the hundreds of pictures that I took on my phone during the past few weeks. Our summer has been so busy and it has just began.
We're looking into swim school, preschool and we have about a million meet ups on the calendar. I will need to work on my blogging skills because we're going to have a lot of fun in the next few months!

Great Times x2

The great memories continued...we have loved spending time with our family and friends!  I love seeing these pictures and knowing that our children have so many people that love them!
Here are more pictures of the fun....
I'm so thankful for the family, these memories and these pictures!
