Board Exam

Jason has been preparing for his board exams for months and this morning was the day that he got to put all of his hard work out there.
He seemed pretty confident when he left the house this morning--I think I took on his nerves.
I've been praying throughout the morning and I'm anxiously awaiting the phone call to tell me that the exam is over.
He has three exams over the next year : written boards (today), oral boards (April) and Echo boards (July).
I think he will be pretty excited to have one of the exams marked off his list after today. Results will be released in six weeks so I'm sure he won't fully breath relief until he gets his results.

Cleveland's Botanical Gardens

The Cleveland Clinic gives a lot of money to the spouses organization and last night was the welcome dinner. They rented out the Cleveland Botanical Gardens and provided dinner and drinks for the evening. There were tons of families that attended...so nice to be with others in similar situations!
We ate dinner with some friends and then we started exploring the gardens. The garden is featuring tree houses right now so it was fun to walk through and search for the tree houses throughout the garden property.
We were even able to snap a family picture by one of the water fountains. We're working on smiling but at least we were all looking at the camera.
They had an area where the kids could explore certain outdoors. My kids were drawn to the zipline and they LOVED it.
We had such a fun evening exploring the gardens with other residents and fellows that are practicing at the Cleveland Clinic.

Life Lately

Life has been moving right along. We've been in Ohio for two months and the weeks seem to be flying by. Here are some pictures of our life lately...
*We made homemade bird feeders (pine cones rolled in peanut butter and bird seed) and they were a major hit with the kiddos. We noticed that our bird feeders were disappearing and one morning, we caught one of the culprits.
*The kids came downstairs one weekend around 5am and ended up falling back asleep. I had to get a picture of all of us squished into our bed. Notice..Barrett's hand is in my hair. He loves hair!
*We love having our cousins so close...we try to get together weekly and have a play date.
*These two kiddos love the park, especially the park with the train that goes through the main courtyard.
*We took the kids to see the movie, Minions, and they did so good. It was Barrett's first movie at the theater and he did so good! The movie wasn't as good as the first two movies but the popcorn made up for it.
*We finally went to visit Preston's Hope playground. It was so nice, so big and we had a great time. Thank goodness that my mom went with me because the kids were running all over that playground and they were rarely together. HA
*The splash park is visited frequently...multiple times a week. It's right around the corner from our house (we can walk there) and we have summer passes. The kids really love it and it's a great way to get them ready for nap or bed!
*Amelia loves Star Wars--I know I've talked about it before. I was at a consignment shop one day and found a Darth Vadar costume. It was a little bit too big but she was determined to put it on and show her Daddy when he came home from work.
*We are slowly getting into a routine, the kids are doing better with allowing Nannie to help and we're juggling things a little bit better.
*Jason takes his boards on Tuesday...excited for him and I know he is going to do great!!

Weekend At The Lake

Since Jason had to study all day on Saturday, he wanted to get out of the house on Sunday. Our friends, Frank and Jess, just bought a boat so we headed to the lake so spend the day on the boat.
It was a great day to be on the water...it was such a beautiful day!
Amelia and Barrett were the first two to ride on the tube. No fear from our Conway kids--they loved riding the tube!
We spent four hours out on the water--we rode the tube, water surfed, wake boarded and then took a ride around the lake. We loved being out on the water with our friends and the kids loved just being out on the water.
We left the lake exhausted and ready for bed--the water and the sun took it out of us!!
So thankful for fun weekends with the family...it's the refreshing boost of energy that we ALL need to start the next week. I love that we got to experience all the "firsts" with Amelia and Barrett. They had their first boat ride and their first ride on a tube and they LOVED it.
Excited to spend more weekends at the lake with our little family!!

Balloon Quest

Saturday was a day that we had to plan from morning to night because Jason needed to study for his boards (one week away). We spent the day playing with our cousins--pool, sprinkler, lunch and a lot of play time. We heard that there was a Balloon Quest in New Castle, Pennsylvania so we got together with Aunt Diane and our cousins and explored the balloon quest.
The balloon quest is a small fun little festival with rides, games and fair food but the main focus is the hot air balloon launch.
We got to the festival around 5pm and the launch wasn't scheduled to happen until 6:30pm so we had some time to ride some rides.
When the cousins get together, pictures are so difficult. Crazy pictures are about the only kind I can get. I'll take what I can get!
The kids were able to ride down the slide by themselves, they just had to carry their sliding rug, so they were all about the slide.
Once they started bringing out the balloons, all eyes were on the open field. We were in awe of the process....it was so awesome to watch!
We loved being so close to the balloons and watching them launch into the sky. The kids waived to all the people in their baskets when they passed over us..it was so cute to see them get so excited to wave to another balloon.
It was such an awesome experience and I'm so glad that I got to experience it with the littles! I hate that Jason missed such a fun night but we were able to FaceTime him so he could experience a little of it.
If you are ever near New Castle, Pennsylvania during Balloon Quest weekend, then you should definitely go to this festival.
