July 4th

This year...our first July in Ohio and we got to celebrate July 4th twice!!
Last weekend (June 28th) we were invited by the cousins to go and watch fireworks at a nearby city, Fairlawn. Jason's cousin is on the police force there and he knew the best places to sit, play and eat. It felt like we were royalty during the festivities.
Fireworks weren't starting until 10pm so we arrived around 8pm so we could get settled and play with our cousins a little bit before.
It rained most of the day so it was a pretty chilly...we had to break out some jackets.
The kids loved the fireworks! They sat amazed and in awe for the first ten minutes and then the last 15-20 minutes, they were cheering. We had such a fun night watching fireworks with our family.

We celebrated again on July 4th! We had a cookout at our house and invited the nearby family and some friends. Our yard looked like a carnival--someone brought a bounce house and then we pulled out all our lawn chairs and play toys.

We finished out the day with smoke bombs, snakes and poppers. The kids (and adults) were so exhausted after a action-packed day that we were asleep before everyone started shooting off their fireworks.
I'm so thankful to live in a country were we are FREE! We couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate with everyone.
