Life Lately

Here are just a few things that we have going on right now...always exciting at the Conway house!

**Barrett peed on the potty for the first time on September 27th. He refused to wear his diaper and we had A LOT of accidents but we also had a few successes on the potty. He's not ready to fully potty train but he's interested so we're going with it.
**Heather, our Ohio cousin, sells Jamberry so last week we went and she put them on Amelia and myself. I was a skeptic at first but seeing how fast they go on and how they are instantly done (no waiting for them to dry), I'm now in love.
**We are going to visit some friends in Michigan this weekend. They live about 3.5 hours away so we're nervous for the drive but excited to reconnect after too many years have passed. Last time we were together, we had zero kids between the two couples and this time we'll have four. Can't wait!!
**We've had a few rainy days this week and it seems like the rain brought the fall weather. Our 80 degree days are gone and we're staying in the 60s-70s.
**We've been working with a Realtor and have started the pre-approval process for a mortgage in Missouri. We have a list of homes that we like and we are thinking that early spring we will make a trip to go and look at them.
**A friend here in Ohio has a gym membership to a really nice gym with a friend pass. I've been able to go along with her to some classes a few times a week and I've LOVED it! So hard, yet so energizing.
**Jason has scheduled to take his oral boards in March. The boards are in North Carolina so he'll have a bit of traveling but we're ready for part two to be passed.
**We have a few upcoming trips. In November we are going to an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic (a cousin's wedding), in January we are going to Colorado for a ski trip with some friends and we are planning a trip home to look at some houses in early spring. We are looking forward to some time together, outside of our normal routine.
**Amelia has picture day at school next week--I'm already planning her outfit, which she will probably veto (she's all about her own fashion these days)

Barrett's 2nd Birthday Party

Barrett's 2nd birthday party was on Saturday, September 26, 2015. His theme was "having a ball" so we tried to keep the colors bright and fun with hints of balls throughout the house and the back yard. The party was from 11a-1p so we made sure to have plenty of food for everyone. We decided on a taco bar and I think that it was a hit! We had the food and the cake tables inside and then the bounce house and the toys outside.

Here are a ton of pictures from our day!  We had the best SECOND birthday in Ohio!!
The best family picture we could get. At least three of the four faces can be seen's getting better!

The party was a success! Everyone enjoyed themselves and the company throughout the party was great. We loved having our family at the party--the kids love playing with their cousins.
I think our birthday boy was loved and spoiled on his special day. So thankful for another year with our sweet little man!
Happy Birthday, Barrett. We love you!

Eddy's Apple Farm

Tuesday morning, Amelia had her first field trip with school.
The school went to Eddy's Farm to pick some apples and to take a tour of all the produce and the production of the produce.
Barrett tagged along and I think that she enjoyed having him there to show off to all of her friends.

Our first stop along the tour with Mr. Eddy was the vineyard. The grapes that they grow are Concord grapes and he sells them to Welch's. I've never had a Concord grape before but they have a hard outer casing and a slimy inside with seeds. They taste identical to the grape juice and Mr. Eddy says to just swallow the little bit of slimy flesh and to spit out the casing. It was cute to watch the kids eat the grapes. Barrett was in LOVE with them!
Once we left the vineyard, we headed to the apple orchard part of the farm.
He took us to the Early Jonathon apples--told us that it takes 4-5 years for an apple tree to produce and then he showed us how to properly pick, polish and eat an apple.
Here are the kids picking, polishing and eating their apples.
We even picked enough apples to make a homemade apple pie. The kids couldn't hardly contain themselves when we told them to fill up our apple bag with apples. We had such a fun time exploring the local farm and tasting some of their yummy goodies. It's amazing how so many apples can come from one tree!

Weekend Recap

Our weekend was packed with family time. We are determined to make the most of our fall weekends and our weekends with Jason home.
We had plans to go to Patterson's Family Fun Fest on Saturday but then the forecast showed severe thunderstorms so we weren't sure if we were going to make it. After a few hours of antsy kids, we decided to try our luck.
The rain only held off for about an hour so we have Patterson's on our to-do list again this fall. We had so much fun!
We started off by taking a tractor ride to the festival. The kids thought this was so much fun!
Once we got to the festival, there were tons of things to do. Pony rides, slides, corn mazes, sand boxes, tractor races and so much more!
They had these fun slides through the middle of the woods that were made out of old trees.
We had to make a run for our car about an hour into our fun morning so I didn't get many pictures. I'll be sure to get more when/if we go back!
Sunday evening, once we got home from the Browns game, we headed to the park. Barrett got a t-ball set for his birthday and we've been promising to take the kids to the baseball field to play.
We walked to the park and the kids were being so sweet on the edge of the stroller (their new way to ride on the stroller).
Here are so pictures of our t-ball fun...the kids were in heaven!
The weather was perfect. The sun was out but the temperatures stayed in the 70s so it was perfect for outdoor fun. I love this time with my little family!
