Festivities During Halloween Week

--Tuesday night Amelia had a Family Fun Night at her school. The children were encouraged to dress up for the evening and the parents were encouraged to bring a side dish. Dinner was pizza and an assortment of side dishes. Barrett is still terrified of costumes so he went as a "football player" in his Cleveland Brown gear (thanks, Uncle Frank) and Amelia decided to change it up and go as Ariel.
--Wednesday afternoon Jason and the kids cleaned out the two pumpkins that we are going to carve. Jason has been working nights for the past week so the time where our schedules overlap and we have nothing going on has been rare. He was able to clean out the pumpkins so we could carve them on Thursday.
--Thursday afternoon we carved our pumpkins. Amelia wanted a cat dressed like a witch and Barrett wanted an owl. We got them carved just as it was time to go trick-or-treating. Thursday evening was  trick-or-treating at a location that was indoors, Eton. It's a indoor/outdoor mall area that is in a super cute, nice area of the Cleveland suburbs. We met our friends, Tyler and Liam, and we walked through it together.
--When we got home from trick-or-treating, we put candles in our pumpkins. The finished product looked so good flickering on our front porch.
--Saturday was trick-or-treating with our cousins, Jack and Wes. We drove to Aurora (where the family lives), enjoyed some dinner and then got dressed in our costumes. The kids loved running up to doors with their lights on and getting candy. The neighborhood where we went was pretty awesome. Everyone was involved and it really set the mood for the night. We had a blast, enjoyed way too much candy and stayed out past our bedtime but we were making memories.
