Last Day Of Preschool

It's pretty crazy that Amelia has completed a full year of a preschool program during our time in Cleveland. She started out so shy and nervous when she would go to school and she ended out still shy but confident! We have really enjoyed watching her gain confidence with her friends and teachers and to feel more excited to learn her letters and numbers.
We took some pictures before I dropped her off at school...Barrett had to be included too. I wish that I hadn't packed everything away because I could do a comparison shot with her first and last day. Bummer!
She has been accepted into our top choice preschool in Missouri and we know that she will soar with her new teachers and friends.
When I picked her up, I had to get some pictures with her and her friends. She's made some great friends this year and she is going to miss them.
Congratulations on finishing your first full year in preschool, sweet girl. On to the next chapter...nothing but blue skies, cotton candy and rainbows!!

Zoo Adventure

It's no surprise that my little ones love to be active, be outside and they LOVE animals. We spend a lot of our free time at the farm park or the zoo.
This week, we decided that we would go to the zoo. We're excited for the St. Louis zoo but we've really grown to love the Cleveland zoo. It's big and spacious and the kids know the direction of their favorite animals.
Here are a few pictures of our day!
A trip to the zoo isn't complete without face paint, a camel ride and a picnic lunch. The kids were worn out by the time we left--they slept the whole way home--definitely a sign of a great time!

Two Weeks

We are now two weeks...let me repeat...TWO WEEKS away from our move to Missouri.
We are so excited to be close to family, to have a house of our own, to start making new friends and settling in to our new routine.
Our house in Ohio was recently put back on the market by our landlord so he can find new tenants. He's had a ton of interest (we've had a lot of people come through) so hopefully he will find someone to fill it soon. Trying to pack and make the house feel clean and spacious is difficult!

We've set end dates to our utilities in Ohio, set start dates to our utilities in Missouri, switched over our insurance policies for Missouri (states have different policy amounts), booked some friends on our moving weekend so we have some help and changed our mailing address to update the first weekend in June. Amelia has two more days in her pre-school, two more swim lessons (Barrett too) and two gymnastic sessions.
I still need to call our individual loan companies, our credit card company and any other bill that we have to update our address and we have to finish packing the last of our stuff and we'll be ready!

Things are slowly wrapping up and it's finally feeling real...our dreams are slowly turning into a reality.

Weekend Review

Friday we headed to a super fun place called Cafe O'Play. The kids got to run around, play in a ball pit, enjoy slides and a ton more fun things with their friends. They loved every second of it...just look at Barrett's smile.
Amelia was having too much fun with her friends to stop and pose for a picture.
We came home, ate some dinner and then headed to the park. My mom was diagnosed with shingles last week so we've been staying out of the house so she can have a little more peace and quiet.
These two cuties LOVE being outside...the park is always a successful trip!
Once we finished at the park (thank goodness for longer days), we went outside to enjoy the sunshine. We made a clothes rack into a gymnast bar for Amelia and Barrett to hang/swing on.
They think they are big stuff, especially when an Olympic leotard is involved. How big does she look?!
Once Jason got home we loaded up the car for a road trip. We headed to Frank and Jess's house and Andy and Alissa met us there. We all were on the island together so we try to get together frequently! We knew we wanted to try to make our schedules include a fun weekend before we move to Missouri. Jason was on call on Sunday but we were able to have Friday night and the majority of Saturday with them.
We don't get to see them very often because their schedules are crazy but when we get together, it's like we were never apart. I LOVE THAT!
Sunday morning when Jason went to work, he texted me telling me that it had snowed. Yeah right...it's May 15th. Not falling for your tricks! HA
When we finally rolled out of bed a few hours later, we realized he wasn't joking. It was legit snowing and it didn't stop for a few hours. The sidewalks, the roads and the grass was covered.

The snow looked like hail balls but it was so soft and slushie. I still can't believe I got a picture of snow in May...only in Cleveland!
We had a jammed packed weekend with fun and friends. Only two more weekends before we move to Missouri!!

Things That Make Me Happy

I have so much to be thankful for, so many things that make me smile and so many things that I don't deserve. I thought I would put a few things down...in no particular order. HA!
Giant Eagle is the local grocery store. For every $50 you spend, you get 10 cents off of gas. We let our points build up and I was able to get gas for 33 cents. SCORE!
I had to take our car into the dealership to get it looked at before we make the big drive to Missouri. Barrett fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep during our appointment. I love watching my babies sleep...look how sweet!
My family is my favorite thing. I was sent this picture on Mother's Day and I couldn't help but smile at my sweet little ones.
I love watching Barrett run and skip down the hallway to pick Amelia up from school. He misses her so much when she is gone and it's so sweet to see him get excited.
I've really been pushing myself outside of my comfort zone recently with my workouts. I signed up to take some intense cardio kickboxing classes through a studio by our house and I can't help but smile when I look at these gloves, my beat up knuckles and when I think about how much I struggled to punch and kick the bag.
Another sleepy face picture of my little girl. Her features are changing so much and I want to remember her sweet little pout and long lashes next to me for as long as I can.
Jason and Barrett are really developing a fun relationship. Barrett used to be all about the women in his life (Nannie and Mommy) but now, his daddy can trump all of us. I love watching them together.
This picture seriously makes me smile and even laugh out loud. Barrett's face is classic. He is constantly making that face and I'm glad we were able to catch it on camera. The fact that Amelia is wearing one of her favorite dresses AGAIN, that the picture is at our favorite farm and that they adore their friend, makes me smile.
We have so much to be thankful for, to smile about and to enjoy. I'm so glad that I have pictures that showcase a few of these things!

Letter Party Program

Friday evening, Amelia had the end-of-the-year program at her preschool. The program was titled "Letter Program Party". Each child was assigned a letter. They had to dress up like their letter and bring in a snack that started with the same letter. Amelia was assigned the letter "E" so she dressed up like Elsa and we brought Elsa cupcakes for her treat.
We weren't sure how brave Amelia would be on the stage (she's pretty shy) but as soon as she lined up, found her friends, she was so happy and excited to start!
They sang a few songs and we were shocked at how well she knew and performed the songs. I might have teared up a little watching her blossom on that stage. We were so proud of our little penguin.
Once the program was over, we enjoyed some snacks and some playtime out on the playground. She loved to show us her playground, her friends and all of the "cool" things at her school.
Such a proud moment for all of us.
Amelia only has a few more weeks of school before she starts a new preschool in Missouri. She's excited and anxious for the move but she's also going to miss her school and her friends in Cleveland.

Cinco de Mayo and Call Schedules

This past week was filled with a lot of fun things.
We started out the week with school and gymnastics (normal routine things) and then we finished out the week with furniture shopping, glitter high tops, and a Cinco de Mayo party with friends.
We headed to look at furniture--we're getting ready to move and we'll need some new things. So many things lead to feeling very overwhelmed but we did see a few things that we really liked!
We left the furniture store and headed to a consignment shop. Barrett needed a pair of rain boots and I couldn't look for him without peeking for Amelia. It was a successful trip. I found rain boots AND glitter high top shoes. Both of my kids have a new favorite pair of shoes!
We had a Cinco de Mayo party on Thursday at a friend's house. Jason was on call but I knew it would be a fun night out so we headed to a party filled with yummy Mexican treats. I didn't take many pictures but I did get a few group pictures. We had a great time and ate way too many churros.
Since Jason was on call, the kids got to sleep with me. It's sortof a tradition (not a smart one) and the kids enjoy Mom and Dad's bed!
We've been packing a couple of boxes each day and the house is really starting to look bare. We have 27 days until we make the drive/move to Missouri!

Weekend With Friends

Friday night (actually Saturday morning) our friends from Michigan came to visit. Paul and Jason went to medical school and their two years of clinicals in California together. Things look a little different now than they did then but it was so awesome to see our little families together.
Saturday we headed to the Farm Park...because it's our favorite place in all of Cleveland. I wish I would have taken more pictures but all I got was the two pictures below from our day there...parenting fail.
The kids were out of their routine so we attempted rest time, instead of nap time, once we got home from the park. The kids wanted to lay down and watch a movie so we were hopeful. I think this scene lasted about 15 minutes before they were running through the house HA!
We spent the rest of the weekend playing, laughing, running through the house and enjoying some tasty treats. It was so good to get together with them again! We've already scheduled another visit in the next year!
