iPhone Dump

Sometimes I have too many pictures that I want to be on the blog (and eventually in printed books) but they don't flow together so I title the post "iPhone dump" and put them all in one place.
I'm apologizing now that they don't flow together but they are too cute to not share.
*Jason was on call so we went and had dinner with him. The kids were in 'wrestle' mode--we miss him terribly when he's gone all weekend!
*Amelia drew this picture of her doing the monkey bars. She's just recently started to draw things other than people and hearts.
*Barrett made me a bracelet made out of zoobs. I sure do love being his mom! Also--how cute is my photobomber?!
*I let Barrett ride through the parking lot of church in the front seat--I had to go and pick up stuff for VBS and he was so proud and excited to be in the front seat. Don't worry...I wasn't going more than 5mph and we were parked when I took this picture.
*Brock came over one morning before piano lessons and the Bazzle loved snuggling with him!
*We got a new chicken, named Ducky"(before the raccoon decided to kill all of our adult chickens) so we had to keep him in a cage in our garage to make sure that the coop was safe before we put him in it. We added some new locks on the egg part, cleaned it up and added him to his new home. We'll be adding a few more friends over the next few days.
*Oscar loves to hide--here are a few of his favorite places.
*We went and watched Lance play his last baseball game and then afterwards we grabbed dinner. Here are the crazy Conway cousins...
*Mornings out on the porch are so relaxing--I love this view.

Life Lately

There was nothing on the schedule this week--it was so good to sleep in and not to not have much of an agenda. Sleep, work, play, eat, nap...reapeat!
We went to the gym and to the trail. We have a 20 mile paved trail that goes through our town and it's the perfect spot to ride bikes and to get in a little exercise. The kids LOVE the trail!

Amelia had a playdate at Shelby's house--it was a great day for some time in the pool. I love that Amelia has some of the sweetest friends, seriously, I hope these girls stay close as they grow up! It was a good time for Barrett and myself to get some one-on-one time!

We've been trying all week to catch the critter that keeps breaking into our chicken coop and killing our chickens. We no longer have any chickens in the coop but something is still breaking in and making of mess of it. We want to make sure we catch whatever is doing the damage before adding more chickens (I would be okay to get rid of the coop but Jason would like to keep the chickens around a bit longer)
One of Amelia's best friends, Charli, had a birthday party after gymnastics on Thursday. It was a pool party and it was so much fun. The rain held off for the first hour but then the clouds opened and the last half of the party was spent hunkered under the awning.

Friday was a rainy day so I cashed in an 'employee appreciation' day. No work on a Friday usually means it's party time but it was a lazy day. Jason was on call (went into work at 4pm) so he was all about resting and being lazy with us.
Lexi came over later that afternoon for a sleepover and I took the kids to the Lazy L Safari to get rid of some energy.
Jason was on call all weekend so we would visit him around dinnertime--we miss him when he's at the hospital so much. We have gotten used to a much better schedule since residency/fellowship have ended so when he has weekend call, it feels like a flashback to darker times HAHA!

Just Another Monday

This morning got started pretty early. Barrett fell asleep last night at 5:30pm and we let him sleep. Good idea last night but bad idea this morning. Little man was up at 6am, if not before.
We went to the gym for class and then we headed to the walking trail for a bit.
When we got home, I had a lot of work to do. The kids had a mid-morning snack and then I plugged in the slide and sat on the porch while the kiddos played. The slide was the best purchase we've made in a LONG time!
We napped, made dinner and then ended up cleaning/organizing our rooms. Jason got home around 3:30pm so we got to enjoy a bit of time together before the nighttime craziness started. Summer is being enjoyed to its fullest around here--we love the sunshine and being outside.

All About...Amelia Jean

I thought I would create a blog all about Amelia--essentially a blog post to dump all of the sweet pictures of my girl.
Such a sweet and sassy little girl--we love watching her grow!

Summer Nights

My kids love the farm--it's no secret.
We headed out there on Friday evening to practice riding the horses and to help get the arena ready for the barrel races on Saturday evening.
The kids got to ride a little bit and they watched their friend, Jarrett, practice his barrel pattern.
We left the arena on Friday around 10pm and then we headed back out there for the races at 7pm.
Did I mention that the farm is our happy place?!
We ate roughly 40 snow cones, 5 orders of nachos, drank more soda than we thought was possible and then topped it off with some candy and a piece of pie. The snack shack is a favorite...definitely, a favorite.
We headed home around 11pm and the kids were filthy and exhausted from a fun evening at the arena with all their friends.
LOVE having nights like favorite kind of night!

Officially Introducing Oscar Conway

I know that you've seen his sweet face on the blog before but we weren't sure if the kitty was a he/she so we had to wait until we went to the veterinarian.
Drum roll, please.....

Our sweet kitty is a boy. His name is Oscar "Grouchy" because he was found in a dumpster. To be honest, we call him Cooper more than Oscar, but we are trying. He is seven weeks old, possibly six weeks.

He has had his shots, some worm medicine and he goes for a follow-up appointment in two weeks. We've slowly been introducing him to inside. We hold him (he's not allowed down on the ground yet) and he's doing good with it. The dogs FREAK him out--he arches his back, hisses and starts swiping his paw and sharp little nails. We definitely have to work on that relationship but everything else is going really well.
We love our sweet little man. I think that we will keep him inside so we can prevent him from getting hurt but we've got to get him to like the pups a little more.

Last Day of Summer School

Amelia has completed two weeks of summer school and I'm amazed at how well she (we) did with the school routine.
She has made a new friend, she can open her own milk and she loves gym class. In two short weeks I've seen her confidence grow and I'm so excited!

Summer school was a great bridge into kindergarten. She got to feel comfortable with her school, the teachers and just the routine. Love my sweet girl and I think that when kindergarten rolls around in August, she will be more than ready!
We celebrated with the slide when she got home--proud of my girl!
