Life Lately

Summer has arrived. The kids are out of school (have been since mid-May) and we are just trying to make the most of our summer. I know I've said before but my crew likes to have things scheduled and we try to get out of the house, even if it's just to the grocery store, at least once a day.  Crazy to some...therapy for us HA!

Amelia started summer school this week. For incoming kindergartners, it's only a two week session and it's from 8a-11a. It's the perfect introduction to kindergarten. She was so excited to start and walk in by herself...I shed a few tears after the first day because she was so confident and independent.

My birthday was Tuesday. Jason got a babysitter for the kids, made reservations to one of our favorite restaurants and it was so awesome. It has been awhile since we've just sat and laughed without having any interruptions--definitely a highlight of the week! Not one picture was taken...total fail!

Tuesday was also the day that we got our sweet dumpster kitty. We've had him/her (I'm pretty sure it's a boy) for three days and we're already so in love.
Wednesday evening was Amelia's cheer performance. Another proud moment for us because she was so confident and she loved getting out on the floor with the older girls. They wore berry colored ribbons on their shirts because a young, seven year old little girl passed away in our community. It was so sudden and so upsetting! I love how our small town takes the time to honor and show support.

Before the performance I ran to Wal-Mart to see if I could find a bow to match their shirt.
Do you guys know who Jojo Sawa is? She was one of the little girls on "Dance Moms" and she is one of our favorite YouTube girls. Well....she has a bow line at Wal-Mart and let me tell you, we could (and might) buy every single one of them.
Thursday we re-slcheduled gymnastics because our schedule was pretty full. School, haircut for Barrett, meeting with our neighbors and then I had a girls night out. WHAT?!  Two nights in one week that we've had a babysitter...woo hoo! Jason was on call and my mom was working so we needed Ms. Brielle one more night. We went to Olive Garden and it was such a great night of talking and laughing--so good for the soul!
Our neighbor came over because they are going to help us this weekend with our pups. We have a family reunion on Saturday and will be away so they are going to come and let them out to go to the bathroom and give them some attention. THANK goodness for sweet neighbors!
We loaded up the truck with all of our reunion supplies on Friday and finished the last bit of packing--we don't like waiting until the last minute. We had a full day with school, my work meetings, loading/packing, mowing, animals, etc. Seriously feels like we live on a funny farm some days.
