Summer Soccer: 3v3

In the summer, our soccer league offers a summer league called 3v3.
It's suppose to teach the girls to learn to pass and spread out on the field.
Tonight was the last game of the league and I had to get a picture of Amelia and her friends--they are so sweet together!
Fall soccer starts in three weeks so Amelia will have a little bit of a break before starting up again!

Friends, Rocks and Babies

Summer is just about over. How did that even happen?!
We've been trying to soak in the last few weeks and I think we've been pretty successful.
I had a girls night out with some friends. I seriously don't know what I would do without my friends! They make the hard days a little easier and the fun days a little better.
Two of the girls, Sarah and Whitney, are having babies in a few days so we had to have one last night out before they make their little bundles make their arrival.
It has been so hot--even the pool is hot--so we went to the mall to get a few things for school and we jumped. The kids love to jump so it was a fun treat for them.
We left the mall and headed to a Staci's house. She delivered last week and we hadn't had a chance to snuggle with Ben. (Sidenote::a ton of my friends/family are pregnant so we are about to be surrounded by sweet little ones!)
The kids loved snuggling snuggles are the best!
The kids wanted to paint and hide more rocks so this was our first big batch. We hid them in the park--they loved doing this. We'll definitely have to do this more frequently!
Amelia starts school in two weeks so we have a few more fun things planned before we get into school mode.

I think our sweet Oscar has settled in to his new home rather nicely.
Here are a few pictures of him sleeping/resting in the oddest places.
When we first started bringing in him in the house, from the garage, he would run and hide. He was scared of the kids and the dogs. Now--he makes himself at home and isn't scared of anything.
We sure do love our little guy!!

**We have a mama deer that passes through our back field and by our house, almost nightly. Here are the kiddos watching her from outside. If you look closely, you can see her standing in the middle of the road
**We helped our friends put up an above ground pool and the kids got to get in when they were filling it up. They loved it--who knew that an inch of water could be so much fun!
**We are part of a group in our town that paints and hides rocks around the town. They are suppose to make others happy when they find them and we get just as much out of painting and hiding them. I love living in a small town that tries to make the world a better place.
**This kitty is getting so comfortable in our house. He will now sleep just about anywhere and I'm collecting pictures of all the crazy places he ends up. That post will be in the future.
**Oscar turns into a hyper, crazy cat at bedtime. We've started transitioning him to being an inside cat but the nighttime is r.o.u.g.h.  Amelia was snuggling with him one night and he actually fell asleep. We sure do love this little fur ball.
**We went to visit Jason (he was working out of town during a vacation week) and the kids enjoyed the "view". They always comment on all the concrete when we go to the city...crazy, country kids.

Amelia The Mermaid

Amelia has been addicted to all things mermaid for awhile now but here recently, she started asking for a mermaid tail.
We've seen them on our favorite YouTube channel and we told her that when she was 12, she could get a tail.
Well...she got smart. She started researching the safety methods and how to kick out of the tail and we finally gave in.
She got to order the tail of her choice (she chose sunrise) and five days later it arrived.
She has lived in the tail...seriously. She eats in it, lays in bed with it and just plays around (outside of the water)in the tail.
We took her to the pool and we were shocked at how quickly she picked up on it. She is only allowed to be in the shallow, so she can stand up, and she can only have the tail on, if we are in the water.
She is definitely a mermaid---this little lady loves the water and loves her new tail.

Vacation Bible School

This week has been Vacation Bible School at our church and it has been so much fun!
Our theme is Maker Fun Factory and it has focused on how God has made each of us and how special we are--the kids got to play with this fun ball machine every morning.
Amelia and SJ in Imagination Station. They were learning about how God is always there, no matter what, even though we can't see him. They did a fun activity where they learned about air/air pressure even though they can't see it, they know it's there.
Barrett is in the pre-k class so I don't get to see him throughout the day but he's been enjoying it and he requested a picture in the tree on our way out.
Here is the Imagination Station. The front is decorated in tablecloths and plates to look like Legos and then when they walk in, they have an imagination scanner (pool noodles) that they walk through.
This was where the kids did their crafty thing for the day. This was probably my little ones favorite stop, besides the water games outside.
Amelia loved being in a class with her sweet friends--they are seriously such a good little group of girls!
The week was packed with such fun songs, dances and love that they really enjoyed themselves.
Maker Fun Factory was a success!

Life Lately

Oh my...we've been so busy these last few days! Work has been crazy, the weather has been hot and we've been making so many memories!
--Jason took the kids fishing one afternoon at the conservation center and they caught so many fish. They loved it!
--Barrett was laying in bed one morning and he said "Mom, take a picture and send it to Nannie." Just a boy, his cat and his iPad!
--Swimming with the big boys. He was in heaven! I'm pretty sure he thought he was 11, just like the boys.
--One morning when I took the dogs outside, the moon was still out and shining so bright. The picture doesn't do it justice but there was a little fog in the fields, the sky was such a beautiful color and the moon was in full force. Our God is alive!
--Barrett got to ride in Papa Dennis' car one afternoon at the pool. Dennis just went around the subdivision (don't worry!) and Barrett loved every second of it! He gave him a 'pound' before they started...ha!
--Amelia got a mermaid tail this week. She has been watching safety videos and swimming videos on YouTube kids and she got to try it out one day after bible school. She did such a great job!
--Spotting some deer in the back field. He cracks us up...daily!
--Naps in the window seat before gymnastics. Amelia rarely naps so I had to document how sweet she looked. It's crazy to think that in one month, she will be in kindergarten.
--Barrett and Oscar=BFFs
--Summer soccer is in full force and she gets to play with her sweet friends from school. Love watching them play, but wish it wasn't 100 degrees!

4th Of July

Before I jump into our fun 4th of July, I wanted to recognize our anniversary in Missouri.
Jason has been at his position for one year (as of July 1st) and he was just voted in as a partner of the group. YAY!  So proud of him and his hard work!

Okay--so now on to our 4th fun!
We headed out to the farm for a mid-day celebration with our family/friends. We had water balloons, the water slide and a ton of fireworks. We love spending time with them and it's so special to celebrate holidays with them--so many memories!!

We left the farm, headed home for an hour or so and then headed to a friend's house for a dinner celebration. The kids played on a slip-n-slide, their fun playground and then we enjoyed some fireworks a little bit after a yummy dinner.

We had such a fun day celebrating our Nation's birthday.
Happy 4th of July from the Conway family!

Barrett: The Animal Lover

*Barrett got to snuggle up with his cousin, Lance's, little hamster. Buddy was the perfect little thing for Barrett to snuggle with a few weeks ago. He loved holding him!
*Oscar loves these baskets that are under the seat by the garage. Barrett pulled out the basket and put in a super soft blanket for Oscar to sleep on--it didn't take long for him to find the comfy sleeping place.
*These two are the best of friends. Cooper got hit a month ago (tomorrow) and Oscar has helped so much with us missing our sweet Cooper kitty.
