Brock's Baptism

Certain churches have baptism days where they gather a crowd and get together everyone on that day to do all their baptisms. My nephews church is one of those churches and yesterday was baptism day. There were 44 people that were making a visual and outward stand that they have accepted Christ as their Savior...wow!
We were beaming with pride when they called his name. He proudly walked out and we couldn't help but cheer!
So proud of Brock and his decision to follow Jesus. I'm also so very thankful we weren't living out of the state so we could witness such a great thing.

Two Weeks Of Chaos

I just realized it has been two weeks since I have blogged. Our world has been rocked a bit since both kids are in school and our schedule seems to be a little busier with each day.
Here are a few pictures so I can get y'all back up-to-date with everything and hopefully I can stay on top of everything moving forward.
Here we go...
**I had a work meeting the other morning and Oscar made himself comfortable. He is definitely a mama's boy!
**At gymnastics, we found a painted rock. It was called a "sweet rock" and it had a whole bunch of candy painted on it. The kids were thrilled.
**Snuggles before school with her iPad and her cat. This girl needs a little bit of this before we start getting all crazy before school.
**I had to go and buy chicken feed and these two laid on the feed and had my pull them around the store. They better be lucky their are so stinkin' cute.
**Every Sunday he climbs in the tree and asks for a picture. I'll have to do a comparison layout one of these days.
**Our town was right in the totality of the solar eclipse. Barrett didn't have school so he stayed home and enjoyed watching it with us. I was actually shocked at how involved he was--it was so cool to watch it go from sunny, to hazy and then to dark all within two hours.
**Walking into school. She has seemed to grow so much since she started school 2 1/2 weeks ago. I got a note from her teacher this week and Amelia is doing amazing. We are so proud of her!
**Barrett loves school but drop off is still really hard on him. My mom takes him and he doesn't cry so this has been a new thing that we started. They love to be together...these two have such a special bond.
**Barrett got his initial assessment at school the other day. I snuck a picture because he looked so sweet.
**Our two had McDonald's night where a portion of the proceeds went to support our school district. We met up with some friends and enjoyed a burger and fries!
**Bath time is always an adventure in our house but now that Oscar is fascinated with the bath, it's added a whole new dynamic. He will actually lay on the side and put his tail in the water. I know that cats usually don't like water but both of our cats have seemed to like bath time.
**We were at the checkout at Wal-Mart the other day and Jason found a few candy bars with different titles. He bought 'Hot Mess' for me, 'Rowdy' for Barrett and for Amelia he bought 'Princess'. She loved it!
**Fall soccer has started so we have practice one night during the week and then games each weekend. We love her coach and her team so I'm excited for a new season.
**They've asked Amelia to join the gymnastics team. Practice would be a little more intense and she would have five months of competitions. She is dying to participate but we feel like she might be a little young. This upcoming week we are doing a trial week--I'll keep you posted.

Barrett's First Day Of School

Today was Barrett's first day of school. He's in the 3s class because of when we plan to put him in kindergarten--he will start kindergarten when he's 5 so we have in the class with other little ones that will start kindergarten in two years.
We woke up excited and a little apprehensive for the day. He loves school but new routine makes our little man a little anxious.
How sweet does he look?!
I let him pick out his shirt for the day--I probably should have made him dress for the occasion (collared shirt) but he was set on wearing a character shirt. Still adorable, regardless of his shirt!

Drop off was rough--he cried and cried. I eventually had to walk away with him crying. His teacher said that he stopped crying two minutes after I left and had the best day.
I was able to get a picture of him walking to the playground and he was having the best time.
First day was a success! His report was amazing--so kind, friendly and he really listened to directions. Please pray that drop off time gets easier because it's rough on all parties!

Barrett's Open House

Our school district had the school aged kids start at the end of last week so they could have a few days of adjustment before starting out a full week. This meant that Barrett had a few extra days of summer before he started his school.
On his last day before school, he requested to go to the "safari". We have a cute little place in our town that has a ton of animals and Barrett LOVES animals so it's his fun place!
That evening it was time to go to his open house. He was pretty excited to meet his teacher but once he got there, he turned shy on us. I should have taken more pictures but this one pretty much says it all--he's smiling... with his teacher! We are all so excited for a fun school year!
We left the open house and headed for ice cream--Barrett's choice!
Summer is officially over and both of the Conway kids are in school--wow, time flew by this summer! We are so excited to see how much they will learn and grow this year.

Amelia's First Day Of School

August 10th was Amelia's first day of Kindergarten. We knew this day was coming for awhile but when we woke up yesterday morning, my heart sank.
She was so excited to be going to school. She had her clothes picked out and we, of course, had to snap some pictures.
When we got her to school, she had to go to a common area and wait for the dismissal bell. I didn't get any pictures with her and her teacher because she didn't go into her class.
We gave hugs and then watched her walk into the room. She was nervous but she was so excited for the day.
I can't believe she is in kindergarten and I can't wait to see all that she learns and discovers this year!

Last Days Of Summer

In Missouri, we start school so much earlier (at least it feels that way) than other parts of the country. Tomorrow is the big day, for Amelia, and then next week is the big day for Barrett and I thought it would be fun to recap their last few days of 'summer'

Amelia has had so much fun time with her friends--ice cream, gymnastics, the pool, flying kites and the list goes on. She has some of the sweetest friends!
There are babies all around me. I know of five different families that are having babies and the second family had their little man last week. We visited Ben the week prior and this week we visited Jude.
We headed to the park for some playtime and then we finished off our fun with a stop at a yummy ice cream shop. Barrett loved pushing the merry-go-round with the big boys!
We spent some time at one of favorite spots, the farm. Boots and dirt are a given with these three at the farm. They were digging for treasure and ended up finding a golf ball, a battery and a few other things.
We prepped for school by blinging out Amelia's headphones. Headphones were on her list and solid black just wouldn't work so we added some red jewels and they turned out so cute!
We had Amelia's open house and we got to meet her teacher and explore her room. She was a little nervous but she is excited!
We jumped at the mall (on a day when I thought I couldn't make it until Jason got home--my patience is wearing thin) with our cousins. I wish I would have taken more than this one picture.
We have napped and watched YouTube Kids (maybe a little too much YouTube Kids)
We made our "First Day of School" signs and realized that school is starting and our summer is just about over.
Our days have been filled with fun, friends and an occasional fight (or two). I think we've did a pretty good job of enjoying the moments and I think we are all ready for what is to come.

Kindergarten Kamp

Amelia starts school this year and our school district is making sure that incoming kindergartners feel prepared and excited for their exciting new adventure.
Last night, we had kindergarten kamp. The school offered a school tour, passed out some information and then we got to ride a bus and go through the lunch line. It was good to just see the school and ensure that she knows where she will have class, music, etc.
The bus ride was after the tour and it was her favorite!
Once we finished the bus ride, we headed to the cafeteria for some milk and cookies. She showed me that she could open up her milk all.by.herself.
We finished out the night excited for next week. We have an open house where we will meet her teacher and her classmates and then it's school time. It's so hard to believe that our little girl is going to be in kindergarten.

Road Trip To Ohio

We headed to Ohio for a fast weekend--Jason got off of work on Friday and we hit the road. It took about 10 hours to get there and when we pulled into the driveway that night, we were ready to stretch our legs and see everyone!
We had a med school reunion with our besties--Frank and Jess, Andy and Alissa. Andy and Alissa drove from Michigan and our crew drove from Missouri.  Frank and Jess have a place on the lake so we spent Saturday on the lake and the kids got to wake surf.
We hung out all day at the lake house, roasted s'mores and hung around the fire catching up with everyone. We stayed up way too late playing games and catching up but it was so good! We woke up Sunday, grabbed some breakfast and then we jumped back on the road by 1pm.
Told ya...it was a quick trip. We just kept saying, "We're young. We got this." HAHA!

It was so good to see everyone and it was even better to see the kids enjoying a day on the lake!!
